King Springs are manufactured at our Head Office and Plant on Queensland's Gold Coast. Our large, modern factory complex, comprising 2 buildings spanning 6,000 square metres, has been purpose built from the ground up, including computer controlled coiling machines, electronic furnaces and cambering machines which have been designed and custom built by King Springs to ensure all areas of our manufacturing process are of the highest standard.

The following is a brief step-by-step description
of our unique manufacturing process.
 

Only the finest quality steel is used, coming to the plant in an annealed state.

The spring is then coiled on a variable speed coiling machine. Leaf springs are cambered on specially designed cambering press.

The bar is cut to length and heated to approximately 1000^C. After being coiled, the spring enters the quenching oil to be hardened.

The electronic tempering furnace then tempers the spring.

The spring now enters the stress relieving process to ensure maximum life and efficiency.

The spring is shot peened to eliminate any surface defects in the steel. Leaf springs are shot peened on the tension surface.

Having cooled, both leaf and coil springs are scragged (compressed to a height beyond it's normal travel). At this point, a complete final specification check occurs.
 

At this point, the end of the spring is ground if required by design.

The coil spring is then powder coated for maximum presentation.

Leaf springs are enamel dipped.

All springs are manufactured under a quality system certified as complying with
ISO-9001:2000.

The springs are finally labelled and packaged in matched pairs ready for despatch. Large stocks are held to service immediate supply.
